Step 5: Praise God and Be Thankful

Step 5: Praise God and Be Thankful

Good morning brethren
We are pressing our way to higher ground. We are Finishing up what the Jews referred to as the five psalms of the "Struggles of the Beginners", and we can see the the emphasis is on the schooling on the afflictions of the "New Born". From the Destress of the world and family's oppositions(120) to the Scorning and Contempt of the Proud, and those who are at Ease with the, "Sin which so easily besets them" (123), we have learned we have learned by experience that the life of the saints is a "Upward Road", but it sure ain't No "Easy Road". Who knew that the statement by our Lord, " In the world you shall have tribulation" would start so soon ! But we are on Journey, and as brother Rolloff sang on time, " We have come to far to look back now".
So, let's take our last step to the Beginners in our Psalms of degrees : Psalms 124
" If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say; If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: Then the waters had overwhelmed us,the stream had gone over our soul: Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers:the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth."
We come from our "Troubles" and end up with "Thanksgiving and Praise", when we "look back to where he" Brought us From to Where we are Now " We may not be yet what we intend to be, but Thanks be unto God, we are not" What "and" Where" we use to be !
Our 5th step is a "Pause" to give Thanks, and Praise brethren, as we have learned the importance of prayer, let us also learn to be Thankful. " In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (1Thess. 5:18) and, " Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."(Heb. 13:13-15)
Step 5, Don't forget to Praise God for his Mercies and to be Thankful.
Lord bless you children
