Bro. Baker's devotion:
Good morning brethren
I was looking for a text that would help me give the Lord his due gratitude for the answer of our prayers for sister Dolly Dukes, who went through several hours of a heart Catheterization procedure yesterday, and I was led to Psalms 66:16-20.
" Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me."
David when addressing the Lord said in Ps. 65:2, " O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come."
Well, I just want to Thank the Lord for his mercies and answer of our prayers for our dear sister over this matter, and we will continue to seek the Lord for her complete recovery. Thank God for a Prayer answering God, that our Joy's may be full at times when trouble seems to rule the hour ! How kind and wonderful he is to us all ! " Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off." ( Ps. 138:6)
Did not our Lord entreat his disciples in John 16:24 +26-27 to ask the Father in his name, that they might receive Fullness of Joy by the answer ? Yes, I believe he did. " Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." " At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God."
How "Joyful" it truly is when we can be partakers of such wonderful promises. Let us never forget his wonderful mercies to his saints. He does good because he Is good. Praise his Holy Name !
Lord bless you children
